State of Mind

When thought and machine become one—what remains of humanity? Berlin, 2048—the world is on the brink of collapse. Resource scarcity, diseases caused by air and water pollution, rising crime rates, war. Governments and corporations promise remedies through technological progress. Drones and humanoid robots replace humans in the public sector, everything is connected to the internet, and surveillance is ubiquitous. Richard Nolan is one of the few journalists who openly criticize this development. When he wakes up in a hospital after an explosion and finds his wife and son mysteriously missing, Richard realizes: he and his family are no longer just bystanders in a storm of competing ideologies about humanity's salvation between dystopian reality and digital utopia. Instead, they find themselves at its very center.
